Please Be Careful Opening Email Attachments

A malware called LOCKY is making round on the Internet.

This malware is being spread through email. The email message contains a subject similar to ATTN: Invoice J-98223146 and a message such as "Please see the attached invoice (Microsoft Word Document) and remit payment according to the terms listed at the bottom of the invoice."

We blocked all emails with subject line ATTN: Invoice in our email spam filtering system, but there's always a chance that a malware of similar characteristic will slip through our defenses. Therefore, if you receive such an email, please DO NOT open the attachment; delete the email immediately. If you open the email by accident, you need to power off your computer (pull the power plug if neccessay), remove all attached USBs, and call IT IMMEDIATELY. This malware will encrypt all documents in your hard drive, USBs and network drives, and there's no known decryptor. You're left to the mercy of Internet bandits asking you to pay them $400 as a ransom.

This malware is capable of erasing the Shadow Copy (an automatic backup copies or snapshots of computer files or volumes) from your computer such that recovery can only be made if you have a backup copy stored in a separate volumes/disks.
